The idea for Warm Tribute came about after the loss of my brother, Eddie Au, and his battle with Ulcerative Colitis and Budd-Chiari Syndrome. Up until that point, I had never lost anyone remotely close to me and I was devastated to have Eddie, the person closest to me throughout my life, pass away. Not only was he my older brother, he was also my role model. All of his friends and colleagues would agree that he was a special person who was determined, always looking forward, and willing to lend a helping hand whenever possible. The day of his death I promised him that my ambition, motivation, and success would be in his name.
Being that I always looked up to Eddie, I took a lesson from his book by doing my best to continue looking forward and not allowing his death to be in vain. My initial thought was to create a single site dedicated solely to him. But as my ideas expanded, I realized that I was not the only person out there going through this kind of grief. So with this in mind and a hope to lend a helping hand to others, the inspiration came about to build a free virtual community for anyone who has suffered the loss of a loved one, and thus, Warm Tribute began.
Through sheer determination, a desire to help others in some little way, and the assistance of the users here on Warm Tribute, I hope that I can fulfill my promise to Eddie. I will continue to improve this site to the best of my ability. Thank you for taking the time to listen to my thoughts and I hope you choose to create a tribute for a loved one as well.
Sincerely,
Fleming Au
