I can remember that day as if it was just yesterday. On March 21, 2008 my old child died from cancer, her name is Ashani Riley she was 8 years old. On March 20th, ashani went to moms to spend the night so Jim and I were had a few drinks; I took him home around 1:00 am and then went to bed. The phone rings at about 4:00 am and for some reason I new it would be my mom. When I answered mom said get over here, shani is breathing funny, so I rushed over. When I arrived, I called 911 because shani was having problems breathing even with oxygen mask on. The paramedics took ashani to Rady children’s hospital and were admitted to the oncology unit. I thought that was odd because the ER nurse was only with ashani for 5 minutes and she would not tell me shanis blood pressure. Once we got into a room there were dr and nureses running in and out the room, the dr sedated ashani because she was in excruciating pain. Ashani was suffering when she finally fell asleep I crowled in bed with her, I remember whispering in her ear "I love you shani" ,smelling her hair and stairing at her. As I watched her chest moving up and down all of a sudden her chest stopped moving. Thats all I remember about that day.
